Diptych

Walking around The Hague, I saw these women chilling on that long bench. When I asked to take a picture of them, they agreed but without feeling comfortable, as we can see through their behavior: the right woman is hiding herself under her cap and the left one is focused on her cigarette.

Indeed, they were both trying to escape from that situation. I felt like this bright red door reflected this idea of escaping, especially with the left door open and the inside we can barely discern.

Motion Blur

Playing with shutter speed was really interesting and fun for me. It was sometime difficult to have a perfect focus where I wanted it to be, but it required practice.

I have always seen my father following sportsmen with his camera, and now I can understand why: to follow the movement.

I loved I was trying to find the biker who had something special, sometimes the look of a child makes everything.

Learning how to modify depth of filed thank to Aperture priority was very interesting and challenging for me. I have always loved picture with a blurry background or a blurry details in the foreground, and now I discovered how to do it!

This is my version of silhouettes, I really enjoyed editing and creating two really different moods: one is dramatic, the other one is dreamy.

Portrait and lighting

Here are the portraits I took of my classmates. I loved controlling light and its reflexion on their face, according to their position and where they looked.
